So the Summer / Holiday sales rolled out today.
The only games I would consider though would be Just Cause or Rift because I own everything else.
v____v. That and I am poor.
I am hoping though that I will see some better titles on sale later, hopefully anything in my wish list such as Civ V, Shogun 2, uhhh and others...

My name is Tamara and I am a casual gamer/
Now people may be all 'OMG YOU SUCH A CASUAL GAMER' but I am not afraid to admit I loved the Sims franchise. I played 1 back on my old shitty desktop, I then played two on my shitty laptop, I then played the Sims 2 with EVERY EXPANSION PACK EVER on my gaming desktop. So this is why I am like EA GAMES, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED WITH NUMBER 3? First off, shit is so ridiculous, the faces look like something from oblivion (not a compliment, I could sit on a piece of paper and it would look more like a face). Then what the hell lack of aspirations? That was enjoyable, this crap system they have now....let's just say my Sim is now in a depression due to incompetence of myself caused by lack of shit that worked well (cough aspirations and simple needs cough). And let's not forget the fact that the whole neighbourhood ages with you. Dammit, I liked controlling each household individually, is there an option for it? Dammit no there isn't.

I am just angry I was stupid enough to pay money for this silly game. T____T.

Mirror's Edge soundtrack, Minecraft again and other things.
Blogging from Uni guys, but is okay I don't have a coffee or a mac.
Firstly as I write this I am revisiting one of my favorite game soundtracks, the Mirror's Edge soundtrack. Now not only is the background music of the game amazing, but it includes the remixes of Still Alive which are some of my favorite songs. It doesn't feel like conventional game soundtrack because of this but I think that give it its individuality. Now due to me not being knowledgeable about the music types you will have to listen to it for yourself but I highly recommend it.
In other news I am also revisiting Minecraft (Which I do every few months). I think the game achieved such great success not only due to the creative aspect but because it found the perfect balance between work and reward. All the creations (minus the people who 'hacked' or w.e the proper term is) took time, whether it was looking for th minerals or clearing out a huge area. The multiplayer aspect also creates a sense of working on something big and being able to include your friends in it.
Anyways just random thoughts - I also still hate Bioware, I will never forgive their betrayal.. unless of course they make Fem Shep more BAMF in ME3.

Screw Bioware.
http://bitmob.com/articles/femshep-shouldnt-need-your-approval
I whole heartedly agree with this article. As a female gamer I find it concerning that there is a lack of female character leads that where less about sex appeal and more about doing their job. The best example of females the game industry needed more of was the female Shepard (with short brunette hair as is the default image).
Then why was it put to a vote where masses of silly boys who just wanted a girl to have sex with where aloud to voice there immature and slightly sexist opinions?
Like the article said, guys voted on who they wanted to put their dick in NOT who looked the most badass. Sadly this is reflected by the final choice. Now I have nothing wrong with blondes but personally I think the gaming industry is flooded with them, for once they had a darn brunette out saving the galaxy and being a darn bamf. Now yes yes I can change her appearance blah blah but it still saddens me that after all the supposed developement the gaming industry has gone through this still exists.
She is in the army why does she have so much make up on, the traditional Shepard is more about kicking ass than giving a shit about how many guys check her out. Her hair design I DON'T mind as much but it still shits me.
The brilliant thing about Mass Effect 2 was that for the most part Fem Shep was as badassily animated as the male equivalent. She, unlike most other female game characters, walked like a soldier. You could tell her armour had weight and for once it wasn't skin tight. She evens shifts position like she is carrying weight. It was subtle things like this, and her bamf dialogue that made me fall in love with the game. Finally a female character worth respecting!
I just hope this is the only thing that goes wrong with number 3, but I have been wrong before. If Bioware changes her animation form a soldier to a stripper I think they would have ruined the game for me and many other fans who acknowledged that this time the female character was more than just sex on legs.

Minecraft Beta 1.4, or more importantly WOLVVVEESSS!!!111!!
So I played the multiplayer version recently, and managed to get an army of wolves. Colour me silly, but I quite like the idea. You may not feel it, but Minecraft can be scary, and knowing a white fluffy thing has my back makes the game a little less scary. That and you have a mound of fur protecting your arse from being eaten by zombies. I also found it quite useful when dungeon raiding, the monsters don't seem so keen on attacking them back, so I would find dungeons, send in the wolves, and reap the rewards. I have always liked the idea of companions / pets in games. It is why I installed the Fenrir mod for Oblivion, I mean we have strong bonds to our pets in real life, why not in game? The heroes you read about always have 'steeds', so so should my darn Oblivion / misc character. I also think *okay line between game and reality getting blurred....* that surviving battle with your 'pet' helps that bond. I end up being more attached to my pet than any other character, hell I would have Fenrir over Kaiden any day...ONCE AGAIN: NOT A FURRY.
tl;dr Event hough the companions turn out to be really stupid A.I. I can't help but get attached, it has my back, and is too darn stupid to abandon me in battle for someone who will actually win.

Watch my channel
For those of you who DON'T know *waves at single Youtube follower who found my blog*, I have a gameplay channel on Youtube, here is a link: http://www.youtube.com/TheDeltaTech
Now you may want to watch this, why? Because
1. I have no work for a week as University holidays do not coincide with school holidays and only families stay where I work *shakes fist at noisy kids*
2. University is out, and having no life, this means at home gaming..... and that is about it.
3. Friends are busy with other things, like seeing girlfriends, friends, going overseas and what not. So I shall be stuck here alone (my sister does not count as a person).
So this SHOULD eventuate in my getting through my massive back log of unfinished games and videos. Which I have a plenty of. For those of you who have Steam, watch my rating.
I shall also hope to add an LP of Portal 2 (Cause yeah, I got the pre-order) if Valve time doesn't lag up the release and make it during school time.
So essentially I plan to not leave my chair for a solid two weeks, all for you guys..... and well because fuck getting up.
I was also planning to get into game reviews... but that means I have to brush up on mah grammar skillz. So uhhh... Yeah, that MAY happen, but mainly the first point.... first TWO points...
Might as well include a list of the games I hope to finish and talk about (won't do any Let's Plays, sorry guys, but I figure I should just wait for new releases and scrap my old LPs, I will however look into some Oblivion things)
- Saints Row 2
- Mafia 2
- Crysis
- Battlefield Bad Company 2
- Assasin's Creed 1 & 2
- AUDIO SURF.... if you can finish that
New releases I have on pre-order and will do videos of when they come out (some aren't out for pre - order yet BUT WILL BE EVENTUALLY!!)
- Portal 2
- Brink
- Saints Row the Third
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ..... course'
... so yeah, waste of a blog post I guess, this is just really here to remind me.
Oh and I played some more of Red Faction Guerrilla (not much, GFWL ruined it for me) and it turns out it is a good game.. well the 2 hours I have played have been good.... well excluding the fact it is tethered to GFWL.
And man, the state of this blog gets worse the more I type..... Well yeah, that and I thought about doing VIDEO reviews... ehh.

Windows Live is the worst gaming uhhh. accessor? Interface... what the fuck is the name exactly.
Steam has it right, a brilliant system. With the download tabs, the sales, the cheap prices, the excellent support, oh and let's not forget they focus on what you want.
Games for Windows Live..
I have no idea where to start, this is honest to the A.I. Director so terrible it makes me fear opening up a windows live game. I buy all my games through Steam, and okay I can kind of handle needing 13 different accounts to play all my games (comrade, ubisoft and things like that), mainly because the games aren't tethered to the account. Windows live does this, they make you enter in a key so if your account shits it royally you are basically screwed. I already have the game tied to my Steam account, why would I want it tied to another?
Oh and the updating system, I will open up a game, not realizing it carries the curse that is windows live, and it is all 'oh hey, you need to update' so I try from in game, I try again, every time it supposedly updates I try playing and the darn thing says it has to update again. So what I do is just go to the darn website and download it there, where I spent an hour trying to figure out how to turn parental control off (as a 18 yr old I find this rather redundant as my parent account is a second email of mine anyways). So I open the program and it has an error saying I cannot log in, by this point I have reached Facebook rant time. IN ALL CAPS. I then try to log in in game, this works, finally. I play 20 minutes of the game in total because I spent soo much time TRYING to play. So thank you Windows Live, for making me cry manly tears.
I hate you
Also, service is terrible, I feel like the nerdy kid in the corner again and Microsoft is the hugely popular guy who doesn't really give a flying fuck about me. T.T

Oh look, me in a Link costume
Gaming Music
I was playing Mass Effect today while blasting pendulum out my half working speaker (It is the left one so technically I can't really hear things to my right...ehhhhh.... I am only playing hard. xD) And got myself thinking, Gaming music.
On one hand:
I will listen to the game soundtrack, especially for the likes of Dragon Age (shitty game, excellent soundtrack), it definately adds to the immersion, I mean the music was built to compliment the game.
but on the other hand:
sometimes I feel like blasting something to take away the 'mundaness' we sometime encounter in games, come on, you know what I am talking about, after the 6th thrasher monster I would prefer something I can...'rock out to'.
My other excuse is that I am just terrified of the setting, an example of this is cave exploring in minecraft, yes it is stupid to be afraid of a square zombie, but the sounds make me jump out of my pants... you know...if I wore pants while gaming. so I blast the music to make me less of a pussy. So yes I admitted it, I sometimes listen to music so I don't cry manly tears.
Next post: some screenshots of games I have played this week.

Uni starts tomorrow, Now ends my gaming life.
Okay, Okay, I can game during uni. But I have become quite attached to sitting at home gaming without pants on. The Steam holiday sale did well to fuel this. But I have only recently attempted to play Mass Effect again. I say attempted because the first time I tried I was addicted for about 12 hours then gave up and never played again till yesterday. Why this is? I would really like to ask my 17 year old self. This game is brilliant (I am totally not biased due to the opportunity to get with Kaiden). I think it was how I had an amazing ability to ignore instructions and therefore got fucking lost. but through deciding to give the game another chance (thanks to the endless recommendations from friends) to fall in love with this game. And oh boy did I. I am not sure if it is the amazing story or just the fact that my character kicks ass. MAJORLY.
I really like the multiple conversation options. It meant I had to think about what my character would say, get into my characters mind. (She was a soul survivor and has a major in kicking your ass). I also liked the ability to pick your crew, I went for Garrus and Kaiden, mainly because I wanted to get into both peoples pants, however it also added to the role play aspect. I picked the characters because they were compatible / enhanced my character.
Oh shiii- I will right more tomorrow, I kinda have to wake up at 5:30 am tomorrow. T.T
